This curious, supportive environment is fostering stronger relationships with fellow members of the sangha, as well as a deeper knowledge of both basic and more advanced principles of meditation. Led by co-facilitators and Long Beach Meditation board members Wendy Danbury and Alma Castro, the book club meets online the first and third Thursday of the month. The book club began in September 2021, as members of the Long Beach Meditation sangha gathered together to discuss their starting book selection, and continues to grow.
The book club has explored a number of books including The Places That Scare You by Pema Chodron, Say What You Mean by Oren Jay Sofer, The Heart of the Buddha’s Teaching by Thich Nhat Hanh, We are the Ones We Have Been Waiting For, by Alice Walker, The Five Invitations, by Frank Ostaseski, and our current selection, How Can I Help, by Ram Dass and Paul Gorman.
New members are always welcome! Join us mid-book, or wait for the next one. Are you interested in participating? Please RSVP.
