Community Events

Participate in one of our recurring community events, as we expand our meditation practice and engage with the local community. Take time to help the Long Beach environment, experience self care, meet new people and enjoy the outdoors.

Sound Bath Meditation

Treat yourself to a beautiful meditative and relaxing experience using sound to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to nurture your mind and body. Held in the Gabrielson Hall, Long Beach Meditation teacher Rosamaría Segura skillfully leads a sound bath journey as she employs the incredible resonance of both Tibetan and crystal bowls, chimes, and more. The experience completes with a period of restful silent meditation. All are welcome, including those who have never meditated before. There is limited capacity for this popular event and spaces go quickly. Reserve your place early.

Youth Meditation

The Dalai Lama once said, “If every 8 year old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation.”

These youth meditations are geared toward engaging young, curious and loving minds. Here you have an opportunity to accompany the children in your life and participate together in a meditation program designed by educator professionals. Beginning with a welcoming introduction, a clear guided meditation is led by one of our experienced teachers, followed with a simple dharma teaching and a period of sharing. This is concluded with a short meet and greet to connect both with community and other participants. Join us and share a moment of peace and clarity with our youth amidst the busyness of daily life.

Support Urban Farming

Attend one of our volunteer events to help local farms and community gardens. By supporting urban agriculture, we can increase the availability of fresh, healthy foods, improving food and nutrition security for ourselves and our neighbors.

The historical Buddha used the Pali word “Bhavana” (cultivation) to describe how we grow and nurture a beautiful life, similar to how a farmer produces a bountiful harvest. Gardening, a profoundly rewarding activity, connects us to the earth, yielding a rich harvest, and providing wholesome nutrition that helps to fuel a healthy and happy existence.
