“Omen trium perfectum,” Latin for “everything that comes in threes is perfect.” For the Chinese, the number three is considered lucky. In Christianity, three represents the divine trinity. For Buddhists, we have the Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. And in mind training, we have the three principal causes: the teacher, sincere interest, and the good conditions.
We continue with the Seventh Point of Lojong, Mind Training teachings which focus on our post-meditation practice. We examine three slogans/maxims beginning with “Take on the three principal causes.”
