Description

“The Disciple of the Noble Ones dwells joyfully…
pervading the whole world with the attitudes of Lovingkindness, Compassion, Empathetic Joy, and Equanimity.”
-The Buddha

Known as the Brahma Viharas (Divine Abodes) or as the Immeasurables, these profound heart practices are direct pathways into deep states of concentration, powerful supports for ethical conduct, and direct portals into profound transformation.

About the Retreat

In this Day Retreat we will review the four Brahma Viharas (Divine Abodes), and train in practical techniques that you can use every day of your life. This is a robust practice intensive and a rare opportunity to put in some serious time on the cushion. In small discussion groups we will explore the concepts of Lovingkindness, Compassion, Sympathetic Joy, and Equanimity. And our possible blocks to or misunderstanding of them.

For each of the 4 Immeasurables, we will have study, discussion, practice, small group discussion, and music assisted contemplation of selected teachings recited by Franz. We will end our retreat with a Blessing Ceremony.

Please bring your own light lunch to the event. We will have access to a refrigerator. Cold and hot water, as well as snacks will be provided.

May All Beings Benefit From Our Practice!

May Our Practice Be The Basis of Complete Liberation!

Franz Manfredi

Amazed and inspired by the incredible depth and diversity in every tradition of Buddhism, Franz endeavors to share the harmony he sees between them all. Rooted in his ongoing studies of the Suttas, Mahayana, and Dzogchen, Franz’s passion to share the teachings of the Buddha springs from the revolution they have created in his own life.
