Practicing active listening with empathy and self-awareness are effective principles that can help an organization successfully connect with colleagues, customers, and community members.

This program is centered on the following:

  • Practice focusing on who we are listening to.
  • Awareness of the thinking mind, recurring thoughts, and internal messages during conversations.
  • Effectively hear and understand what the person we are listening to is saying.
  • Pausing, being Present, and Proceeding to respond with awareness of the task at hand.

Stress Management and Intentional Focus

Often, we learn unhealthy strategies for coping with stress that can add suffering to challenging experiences. Although Mindfulness doesn’t necessarily reduce stress, it can help us develop healthy and wise ways to interact with daily stressors.

This program is centered on the following:

  • Recognize stress, and learn how to pause and take care of ourselves.
  • Develop ways to observe and understand the thinking mind.
  • Connect and be with our body, listen to our body’s messages, and practice being more sensitive and compassionate with our felt experiences.
  • Practice letting go of the mind’s stories, acknowledging and allowing what is experienced without reacting in ways that might bring future regrets.
  • Increase our focus and intentionally direct awareness to what’s most needed.

Mindful and Compassionate Work Relationships

Focus on cultivating mindful and compassionate skills that can be applied directly to our professional and personal lives. The training includes group-guided meditations, individual meditation practices, experiential exercises, and reflections to strengthen professional relationships and workplace environments.

  • Identify well-being and self-care practices.

Everyday Mindfulness

Mindfulness meditation is the ground to begin the journey to discover our true nature and live a fully present life with greater awareness and compassion.  A dedicated meditation practice can radically transform how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world.  Learn research backed techniques and create a company culture of genuine wellness and focus in the workspace. This program can help you and your team understand the foundations of secular meditation and develop an effective and ongoing meditation practice.

This program is centered on the following:

  • Introduction of the essentials of secular mindfulness meditation.
  • Learn to attune and align to your intentions and highest values.
  • Understand and manage anxiety and strong emotions.
  • Develop the qualities of clarity, stability, and emotional strength.
  • Practice effective concentration techniques and approaches to support a regular meditation practice and living a mindful life.

Q: We have a diverse staff with different beliefs, faiths and cultural backgrounds. Isn’t Mindfulness Buddhist?

Our programs are designed to offer high-quality secular mindfulness and compassion practices. We strive to make mindfulness practices accessible to all communities, being inclusive across race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, body ability, and age. We also offer classes in Spanish for the Spanish-speaking monolingual community. Our teachers are skillful and culturally sensitive to the diversity of our communities.

Q: Our staff is quite busy. Won’t adding to their agenda just add to their stress?

Most organizations have busy schedules and limited meeting times, often leading to staff burnout. Our programs teach the mindful self-care practices that are most needed in times of stress and demanding workloads. We tailor programs specifically to support your staff, with sessions that easily fit busy schedules. For example, we have often conducted our workshops as part of existing staff meetings. We develop a schedule that works for you.
