"Concerning the Way, there will be no difficulty, if only you dislike being picky." So begins the Xinxin Ming, a Tang Dynasty classic of the Golden Age of Ch'an (original Zen). Translated as either "Faith in Mind" or "Trust Your Heart," this writing serves as a testament and encouragement towards the direct experience of enlightenment, the enduring truth that our original teacher Shakyamuni Buddha realized under the Bodhi Tree. We will look at the beginning lines of this classic and see how we can realize its essential point in our meditation and everyday life.
