Teacher
Jampa first encountered the Dharma personally in 1994. After many years of studying on his own and applying the Dharma to his life, in 2005 he found his home at Pasadena Bodhi Path and his first teacher, Khaydroup Zangmo. He took refuge that same year and began formal study and practice in the Karma Kagyü lineage of Tibetan Buddhism under the guidance of his root teacher, Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche. Jampa is a graduate of the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Program at the Samarasa Wellness Center under the guidance of David Nichtern, Dharma Moon founder and senior teacher in the lineage of Chögyam Trungpa. In 2016 he was invited to begin teaching at Long Beach Meditation by both his teacher Khaydroup and the founder of Long Beach Meditation Dr. Victor Byrd.
Jampa continues his studies in the Zen tradition under the guidance of Jokai Blackwell Roshi. Although still fumbling and stumbling along the path, he has maintained a continuous Dharma practice for many years, enjoys a good book, jazz, and a pint with old and new friends.
