Co-facilitated by Wendy Danbury and Alma Castro
First & Third Thursdays
7:00PM - 8:30PM
Online Via Zoom
Led by co-facilitators and Long Beach Meditation board members Wendy Danbury and Alma Castro, the book club meets the first and third Thursday of the month. This curious, supportive environment is fostering stronger relationships with fellow members of the sangha, as well as a deeper knowledge of both basic and more advanced principles of meditation.
The book club began in September 2021, as members of the Long Beach Meditation sangha gathered together on Zoom to discuss their starting book selection, and continues to grow. The book club has explored a number of books including The Places That Scare You by Pema Chodron, Say What You Mean by Oren Jay Sofer, The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching by Thich Nhat Hanh, We are the Ones We Have Been Waiting For, by Alice Walker, and
our current selection, The Five Invitations, by Frank Ostaseski, which we began on May 2nd.
New members are always welcome! Join us mid-book, or wait for the next one! Are you interested in participating? Please RSVP below.
Cost: Suggested donation of $10 to help keep our doors open, compensate teacher, and make classes available for those who cannot afford them. No one is turned away for lack of funds. If you would like to join us in this practice of dana or generosity, please consider contributing:
