2025 Dates - Coming Soon
Sign up and join us for our quarterly Beach Cleanup and Ocean Meditation! Make an immediate positive impact on the environment. Meet new people in our community and enjoy the ocean view. Afterwards we join together in a guided meditation on the beach. Long Beach Meditation co-sponsors this event with community activist Justin Rudd and his Community Action Team which has been doing this valuable work since 1999. By volunteering to help remove trash before it infiltrates our coastal waters, you are helping protect aquatic wildlife along the Long Beach, Orange, and Los Angeles coast.
We have pledged to bring out 25 volunteers for this event. Please help us meet our commitment and sign up below!
At 9:30 AM volunteers meet at Rosie’s Dog Beach. Our volunteers meet the teacher at the LBM sandwich board sign near the volunteer table and then progress towards both the Belmont Pier and the Peninsula. Bags, gloves, and refreshments are provided at staffed tables set up for the morning activities. Volunteers are asked to wear shoes and sunscreen; hats are recommended. Dogs are welcome off-leash once on the sand at Rosie's Dog Beach only. Free parking is available at Ocean Boulevard and Granada Avenue using the kiosk code which is unique for each event.
Immediately following the clean up, join our guest Long Beach Meditation teacher at the LBM sandwich board sign for a 30 minute meditation with sand under your feet and the sky above. We will practice standing and walking meditation, immersing ourselves in the sounds and sensations of the ocean and its surroundings. However, if you prefer to sit we recommend bringing a towel or beach chair. All are welcome.
