Led by Franz Manfredi
Quarterly on Saturdays
6:15PM - 8:15PM
Next Date: January 4, 2025
In-person and Online via Zoom
The Buddha instructed his students to observe the Full Moon, traditionally known as the Uposatha, by gathering together and practicing meditation in community. This quarterly evening retreat is a powerful time to deepen and renew our practice as we align our lives with our highest values and intentions.
In our sacred candlelit meditation hall, Teacher Franz Manfredi will lead us through guided and silent meditations. He will share readings from the teachings of the Buddha, and guide us through traditional Buddhist chants.
This class is suitable for all levels of experience and is held both in person and online. All are welcome and no one is turned away for lack of funds. May all beings be happy.
Cost
Suggested donation of $20 to help keep our doors open, compensate teacher, and make classes available for those who cannot afford them. No one is turned away for lack of funds. If you would like to join us in this practice of dana or generosity, please consider contributing:

Franz Manfredi
Teacher
franz@longbeachmeditation.org
Franz's abiding interest in the spiritual traditions of South and Southeast Asia was sparked as a young child and he began his study and practice of Hindu meditation and philosophy at 8 years of age. During three pilgrimages to India beginning in 2002 he received mantra diksha, tantric empowerments and instruction in the Dakshina Kali and Barsana Vaishnava traditions.
After completing his undergraduate world music program at CalArts in 2004, Franz moved to the wonderful city of Long Beach.
He began studying Buddhism in earnest in 2013, beginning with an in-depth study and practice of Early Buddhism represented in the Sutta Pitaka. In 2015 Franz was invited to teach at Long Beach Meditation where he teaches to this day.
Constantly amazed and inspired by the incredible depth and diverse beauty in all of Buddhism, Franz continues his education under the expert guidance of Jokai Blackwell Roshi, and has taken refuge and bodhisattva vows with Dzogchen master James Low.
Franz’s passion to share the teachings of the Buddha springs from the revolution they have created in his own life.
